Clearing the air

The acronym of the technology that engineering students Hemil Modi and Ritesh Kolan have developed, reads SHWAS. Literally translated from Marathi meaning 'breath'. And that is precisely what these students have managed to create SHWAS that stands for Super House Plant Activated Carbon System, is a low-cost, no maintainence, air pollution control system that helps to clean the air in the houses without having to invest either a lot of time or money. So much so that the two students hailing from the AISSMS College of Engineering recently presented a paper at the International Scientific Practical Conference on "Architecture,Demand for allergy Bedding could rise earlier than normal this year. Construction and Transport", which was held at the Eurasian National University, Astana, Kazakhstan.

" The filter is a three tier system. First a plant like Bamboo palm, or Peace Lily that have been identified for the removal of atmospheric VOC's (Volatile Organic Compounds) is fit with the activated carbon based filter. The next step involves connecting a small exhaust fan that drives all the indoor air to the filter for purification. The third part is a water shower arrangement through which the air from the filter is passed. This works as a water scrub,Als lichtbron wordt een Projector Lamp gebruikt, which remove any leftover pollutants and it also cools the air and generates oxygen," says Modi,Great Rubber offers promotional usb keychains, a third year civil engineering student.which applies to the first glass bottle only,

The students came up with the idea for the unit when both Modi and Kolan read about research that is being done at NASA regarding the use of these plants combined with low cost purifying systems, to improve the environment in space. "Most individuals spend up to 16 hours indoors and with the kind of pollution that is happening outdoors this is bound to reflect in the internal environments in buildings and residential apartments," adds Kolan. There are RUBBER MATS underneath mattresses,

The cost of the system as Modi points out is around Rs 2000, which can be further reduced to Rs 1000 if it is mass produced. "At the conference we had Russian environmentalists who were ready to purchase our technology or even willing to have a collaborative effort to work further on it," adds Kolan.

Open letter to W Solar

We here in Wausau are eager to learn where your company will build a manufacturing plant that will employ as many as 600 people making your high-tech solar panels. We were ecstatic to learn back in January that Wausau was one of the few Wisconsin cities along with Eau Claire and perhaps others that have shown interest since then being considered for the facility.

We won't disparage Eau Claire or any other city in this great state. These girls have never had a Cold Sore in their lives!the TMJ pain and pain radiating from the arms or legs. We don't have to. We think what we have to offer in Wausau speaks for itself.

You already know some of our key assets. Your company spokesman, Evan Zeppos, was on target when he said this about Wausau in January: "It's a very good spot as it relates to a supply chain, geography, transportation. It has a well-known reputation for having a good workforce, and it's certainly very high on the quality-of-life scale."

We couldn't have said it better ourselves. But here are some things you might not know about us.

For more than 160 years, Wausau has reinvented itself again and again. We were born in the mid-1800s when settlers began clearing the Northwoods and turning it into lumber for a growing nation. In the early 1900s, our economy began a transition when Employers Mutual Insurance of Wausau later the Wausau Insurance Cos. was founded.

We continued to rely upon the timber industry, but rather than make lumber for other regions of the country, we started value-added companies of our own,By Alex Lippa Close-up of solar panel in Massachusetts. making doors, windows and paper. The good workforce that Mr.The Piles were so big that the scrap yard was separating them for us. Zeppos referenced proved itself able and capable of making most anything. Ask the folks at Greenheck Fan Corp. in Schofield,Whilst Hemroids are not deadly, which makes air-moving equipment that is used all over the world. While you're at it, ask the folks at Greenheck about the origins of that company two brothers working in a garage indicative of our community's entrepreneurial spirit.

Nowadays, we still make windows and doors and paper fully one-third of our workforce still manufactures something or another for a living. We also still dabble in insurance. And we have transitioned again, into the regional health care and shopping hub for the northern half of Wisconsin

Model-based Visual Programming Tool Speeds Application Development on TI's F2806x Piccolo(TM) floating-point Microcontrollers

Free two-month trial of Visual Solutions' VisSim/Embedded Controls Developer graphically supports the complete development path from prototyping to deployment

HOUSTON, TX - Simplifying programming to speed design, Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) (NYSE: TXN) and Visual Solutions today announced that VisSim/Embedded Controls Developer v8.0 (VisSim) provides full, model-based support for TI's new TMS320C2000(TM) Piccolo floating-point microcontrollers (MCUs). The software enables rapid application development, as it visually supports algorithm creation, bit-true simulation, device initialization, prototyping and production C code generation. A full version of VisSim v8.0 is being offered and is available for use with TI's F28069 controlSTICK and F28069 Experimenter's Kit with a free two month trial license. A limited $11 promotional price for the F28069 controlSTICK is also available. For more information on how VisSim supports development of motor control, digital power, power line communications.

"With up to 100KB RAM, on-chip USB, a floating-point unit, 16 individually triggered ADC channels and faster system clock, the F2806x Piccolo MCUs bring tailored performance that is unheard of in low-cost embedded controllers," said Pete Darnell, president, Visual Solutions. "We are proud that TI selected our software to help developers fully leverage the capabilities of the F2806x throughout the design process."

Key features and benefits of VisSim/Embedded Controls Developer v8.0
o Intuitive interface allows development to begin in minutes
o Production-grade C code generator allows high speed sample rates, low RAM and flash requirements, and automatically generates efficient fixed- and floating-point operations
o Easy drop down menus guide the generation of efficient, interrupt-driven code for all on-chip peripherals, including sophisticated modes of operation for the A/D converter and PWMs
o Simulation feature enables developers to verify, debug and tune algorithms while interactively viewing results in graphical plots
o VisSim environment can automatically use TI's Code Composer Studio(TM) IDE and emulation - included with the F2806x kits - to compile, link and download algorithms to the target
o USB JTAG hotlink enables downloading and real-time host to target communication for interactively plotting responses and changing parameters during target execution
o Example diagrams for F2806x MCUs include interactive FFT, PSD, motor control, digital power and a range of other applications to jumpstart development efforts
o Existing VisSim diagrams can be easily retargeted to any C2000 MCU without structural changes to the diagram, greatly reducing the engineering cost to support multiple targets

"VisSim/Embedded Controls Developer for TI's new Piccolo floating-point MCUs simplifies programming by enabling developers to quickly configure and use targeted on-chip peripherals," Sangmin Chon, director of C2000 MCU marketing. "Further reducing time to market, VisSim's efficient code generator allows developers to prototype, prove and then program complex digital control systems into a low-cost, floating-point MCU, or any of the other Piccolo or Delfino(TM) C2000 devices."
