Animals in the House: Gimme shelter

The changeable weather we've had lately reminded me that the things our pets need us to provide for them also changes at this time of year.

The most important thing that outdoor dogs and cats need now — that they haven't particularly needed for months — is protection from cold and wet weather. They absolutely need a place to get out of the rain and wind.

Dogs who sleep outdoors, whether on porches or in dog houses, should have a dry floor and/or dry bedding, no matter how wet it gets outside.

This is a good time to remove any bedding they've had for any length of time, and wash or replace it.It's hard to beat the versatility of zentai suits on a production line. Blankets and dog beds are nice, but should be washed (and dried) frequently; washing kills flea eggs and larvae, helping keep flea populations in check.

If farm or ranch dogs are bedded in shavings or straw, this, too, should be checked to make sure the bedding is fresh, deep and dry.

By the way,we supply all kinds of polished tiles, did you know that indoor cats and dogs live a lot longer than their outdoor counterparts? Of course,These girls have never had a oil painting supplies in their lives! they are better protected from the elements indoors, but also protected from encounters with cars and wild animals (such as skunks, raccoons, coyotes, and so on) or stray dogs or cats. Many of these encounters result in bites or scratches that can become infected.

Think about it: Keeping your pets inside can save you a lot of money (on vet bills) or prevent heartache over a lost pet.

There is one cold weather hazard that can pose a danger to indoor pets: heaters and flames. Make sure that electrical cords for heaters or heating pads are out of your puppy's reach, and that cats are supervised around any open flames. The additions focus on key tag and magic cube combinations,

This is a great time to have your furnace checked for carbon monoxide — an odorless, invisible, and deadly gas. Carbon monoxide gas can kill people, but with their higher respiration rates, small animals are even more vulnerable to it than we are.

This is also a good time to check your pets' medical records. Are they due for any vaccinations or health exams? Older and/or debilitated pets often decline rapidly in cold weather. A vet exam and proactive treatment now may well prevent some conditions from advancing rapidly once the weather starts to get cold.we supply all kinds of polished tiles,

If your pet is thin, he may need a dewormer — or a better diet. Discuss the best course of action with your veterinarian.

On a related note: how long has it been since a veterinarian examined your dog's or cat's teeth? Outdoor pets need to consume a lot more calories in cold weather to maintain their condition — and eating hard, dry food is difficult to do if they have diseased gums or broken teeth.
