The court approved for the county library system to hire an IT specialist. The ordinance stated the IT specialist, paid out of the library fund, will cost $20,769.12 for salary, $1,588.80 for Social Security, $2,797.56 for retirement, $5,088.24 for health insurance, $421.56 for worker's compensation and $643.80 for unemployment for a total of $31,309.08.

Director Shawn Pierce said the library system has eight branches with 70 computers in Lonoke and Prairie counties. Pierce said about 48,000 people used the computers last year. JPs Joe Farrer, Alexis Malham and Jannette Minton voted against the resolution, and Mark Edwards abstained.
