The Guardian’s Julia Kollewe explores the new Regent Palace Hotel development.

Two restored 1930s Art Deco restaurants and a new Whole Foods store are scheduled to open next year at the former Regent Palace Hotel near the southern end of Regent Street, off Piccadilly Circus. The latest development in the Crown Estate’s 1bn revamp of Regent Street, called Quadrant 3, will also offer 200,Large selection of Wholesale Glass Mixed Mosaics For Kitchen From China Manufacturers000 square feet of office space over seven floors to tenants including a company co-founded by former US vice president Al Gore.

The 300m building has been completed four months ahead of schedule and the top floor will this week be handed over to the first office tenant,We have our own Wholesale Crystal For Countertops From China Manufacturers gallery Generation Investment Management, chaired by Gore. Lead retailer Whole Foods is busy fitting out a 17,000 square foot store, which opens onto the newly pedestrianised Glasshouse Street and is expected to open next spring. Other retailers are likely to include clothes chains Jack Spade, Coach, Stone Island, Wolsey and Woolrich.

The two Art Deco restaurants in the 1930s building, which were once home to the Atlantic Bar & Grill and Titanic, have been painstakingly restored, from the timber veneer,Basic information about Wholesale Polished Stair Tiles For Bathrooms including links marble pillars and gold leaf architraving to the brass fittings, apple green ceiling and original wallpaper. Nearly a quarter of the building, which also includes nine apartments with one to three bedrooms (with rents ranging from 800 to 1,400 a week), has been let or is under offer. The original cornerpieces of the former Regent Palace Hotel have been retained along with the faence facade made from clay tiles, and one side is shaped like the prow of a ship, offering boutique office space.

The building is opposite Quadrant 1, the former Café Royal, frequented by Oscar Wilde and Aubrey Beardsley, which is being turned into a five-star hotel and set to complete early next year.

The Crown Estate is trying to make the southern end of Regent Street more upmarket to bring it into line with the northern end, which has Apple, Banana Republic and Top Shop. Burberry, Hollister, Superdry and Austin Reed are opening new stores at the bottom end with space totalling 150,000 sq ft.

Since 1760, the Crown Estate has managed the royal lands and paid its profits to the Treasury. It also owns the seabed around Britain and much of the coastline, as well as farmland and ancient forests.
